Solar prize
EUROSOLAR AUSTRIA awards the annual National and European Solar Prize since 1994 for towns, municipal enterprises, societies or communities, individuals, engineers, architects and also organisations for their outstanding contribution to the use of renewable energy.
The prize is given to spark and strengthen the public interest in renewable energy. Excellence and innovation in renewable energy applications will be celebrated in different categories. The recipients will be honoured at a ceremonious event.
The call for entries is open in several European countries at the same time through the national Sections. All European Solar Prize winners will be selected from the entrants for the national Solar Prize in each country and from the applications directly received at EUROSOLAR Germany.
The public competition and Solar Prize award ceremony are presented in different categories:
– Towns/municipalities, council districts, public utilities
– Industrial and commercial companies or farmers
– Owners or operators of renewable energy installations
– Local or regional associations/organisations
– Solar architecture and urban planning
– Media
– Transport and mobility
– Education and vocational training
– One-world cooperation
– Special achievement prize for individual commitment.
Proposals for projects in the various price categories should be submitted in duplicate in writing. Part of the application is a short summary of half an DIN-A4 page in which the specifics of the project are briefly outlined. In principle, one can propose any other person or institution, or his own project for the award. The submitted documents should describe the project accurately and clearly that renewable energies play a special role. The projects must have already been implemented or will be completed in the year of submission.
All applications and proposals must be received at latest by June 30th 2012. The determination of the individual award winners will be made by a jury appointed by EUROSOLAR AUSTRIA. At first all the winners of the national Solar Prizes 2011 are presented to the public. Of all the European countries involved then the winners of the European Solar Prizes 2011 are determined. For all documents sent to EUROSOLAR AUSTRIA can no liability or responsibility be assumed nor are there any other legal claims, such as the return of the documents etc.
